I can personally recommend my local builder in Dayton, OH also. You miss one detail in the setup, and you'll find out sooner rather than later. They're a high volume shop, and that doesn't bode well for making these cantankerous 700R/4L60's survive. I have no first hand experience with Monster, but their reputation isn't stellar, to put it mildly. He specializes in the 700R4/4L60(E) platforms and is very good at it, unlike most other shops who can tout their TH400's holding up up behind serious power and conveniently use that reputation to sell their not-so-robust 700R4's The ones I know of personally are doing fine going on 10 years behind 500+ hp in strip and street use. Not only is he extremely helpful to the 3rd Gen crowd, he just happens to build the most durable 700R4/4L60 transmissions available anywhere. Īnother "'Bird" chirping in here for Dana at ProBuilt. I will freely admit to having no business experience with them as well as none with Pro Built either, but as a regular TGO member/supporter I feel the guy deserves the business, and I know I can always count on him answering any questions that arise after the sale cause he's always here answering people's questions anyway. Take the above as no knock whatsoever against Monster transmissions. Any guy who would show such dedication to a group of folks who are into GM third gen F bodies (remember the 700R4 goes into a lot more vehicles than just our beloved third gens) is a guy to trust and do business with since he's quite obviously the one in a million honest soul who also happens to be into building high performance transmissions. The answer is that in the time I've been here on TGO I've seen Dana help literally hundreds of folks with very specific and very correct answers about their transmissions whether they were his customers or not. I have never once put in other than a stock replacement transmission into anything, so what basis do I have in recommending a guy I've never personally done business with ? If I were to seek such a transmission, I would look to TGO site sponsor Dana at Pro Built Transmissions.
